“Modern global security tendencies: does democracy matter?” – the title of upcoming 5th Kyiv Security Forum.

On April, 19 – 20, 2012 within the framework of the 5th Kyiv Security Forum discussion about role of democracy in modern global and regional security processes will be held.Annual international event “Kyiv Security Forum” was initiated by the Arseniy Yatseniuk Foundation Open Ukraine in 2007. It is the region’s foremost platform for high level discussions on the most pressing security issues in the Black Sea region and wider Europe.
Participants of the 5th Security Forum will discuss global security tendencies, prosperity and democracy issues. Representatives from European and Black Sea regional states will determine the role of the European Union in regional development and analyse the EU’s future as the key factor for regional stability. The role of Ukraine in global and regional security processes will also become a topic for discussion.
Forum Guests are over 400 representatives from more than 20 countries, high-level top governmental officials and policy leaders, well-known politicians, research associates and academics, experts, businessmen, representatives of civil society and mass media from Ukraine and other states of the Black Sea region, from the USA, respective international and regional organizations.
