Mission of the Foundation
Open Ukraine is a non-partisan international philanthropic foundation established by Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Zbigniev Drzymala to support public diplomacy and raise the profile of Ukraine internationally.
The Foundation reaches its goals by implementing key programs:
• International Dialogue
• Migration Today
• Cultural Horizons
• Young Generation
• Ukrainians Abroad
Ukraine is a young, dynamic, modern country, rich with talented and hard-working people. Alas, Ukraine’s talents and accomplishments are not yet fully known abroad. Arseniy Yatsenyuk, now Speaker of the Ukrainian parliament, created the Open Ukraine Foundation to foster the exchange of ideas and to highlight people who are aiming to raise the profile of Ukraine internationally.
Message of the Foundation: OPEN UKRAINE FOR YOURSELF AND FOR THE WORLD
OPEN UKRAINE FOR YOURSELF.
The Foundation works with a new generation of artists, entrepreneurs, and civic leaders from different regions who strive to implement social changes in society. Young Ukrainians possess a powerful potential and the Foundation aims to strengthen it through heightened awareness of the exciting things that are taking place throughout the country. The Foundation builds a network of young people who have innovative ideas for social change and provides the platform for exchange of experiences and best practices, information support and new technologies to implement changes.
Ukrainian labour migrants -- Millions of Ukrainian citizens who long to improve the quality of their lives and of their families immigrate to other countries for more opportunities. This is the reality today and Open Ukraine is providing help to ensure safe and legal travel abroad. Additionally, the Foundation promotes initiatives that will spur those who left for employment and educational opportunities to return and reintegrated into the national economy.
OPEN UKRAINE FOR THE WORLD.
The Cultural Horizons program is a way for the Foundation to support contemporary art initiatives and to unveil them widely to Ukrainian and international circles. Open Ukraine plans to find a place for the best Ukrainian works of contemporary visual art and literature in the European cultural space.
The foundation sees Ukraine as a contributor to regional security. It’s Annual Kyiv Security Forum and regular meetings of the Diplomatic Club are a new platform for international cooperation and public diplomacy in Ukraine.
The Foundation is comprised of philanthropists from varied backgrounds and expertise? Among our constant partners are Victor Pinchuk Foundation and Industrial Union of Donbas Corporation. Open Ukraine unites people who care about elevating Ukraine’s profile and its future.
